FC Hampton Reserves 3 – Wittering Premair A  7

The Reserves faced Wittering Premair A, a new established team this past Saturday. With the warm weather it was looking as if it would be an exciting game.

Both teams started off well and Robert Pearson was unfortunate not to but the Swans ahead. The game was going back and forth and Wittering broke the deadlock 15mins in. FCH Reserves upped their game and within 3mins they were soon back level after some good work from youngster Ethan Cole, to Jake Cooper who assisted Peter Wright to put the scores level. Things then went downhill! Some woeful defending and lack of communication saw Wittering score 3 quick goals all from similar styles of play. Wittering did score a well worked goal just before halftime.

HT 1-5

A good halftime the talk saw FCH Res come out and continued to put Wittering under constant pressure and after 65mins they managed to pull one back after Jake Cooper was put through down the wing and he set up Daniel O’Sullivan to get his second of the season. Wittering responded quite quickly after another defensive error from a corner. Not long after U18 player, Ben Atkinson cleared and effort of the line. Both teams were looking for more and both were rewarded. Daniel O’Sullivan was brought down in the box and subsequently scored from the spot. Wittering scored from a counter attack. FT 3-7

MoM – Peter Wright –  solid throughout the midfield

HM – Ethan Cole and Ben Atkinson – to strong performance’s from u18 players

Managers comments – showed positivity and continued to play some good football. Need to tighten up at the back and reduce the defensive errors.
